Re: New hardware revision?

yes the Mega8 has the required Real Time Counter with Separate Oscillator so it could be configured to perform the function. I will have a play this weekend I have a mega16 in my STK500 at the moment but it should work the same.

SID

Hi Simon,

I have a chance of a few scrap C64s (the amiga style case) from what I read the purists say that one version of SID is 'better' than others. Has your research turned up if these can be found in later C64s or are they only in earlier versions?

Regards

Re: New hardware revision?

Hi Simon, What resoultion are you currently using on the RTC (1s?), Looking at reducing boardspace and chipcount/cost I wondered if it would make sense to use the RTC within the AVR it can be battery backed while unpowered and use only 10uA according to the application notes. I'll put something up once i have better than...

Re: Part suppliers

Hi Simon, They quoted $20 for a V9990 but no quotation on a MC68450RC10 quad DMA, I have pretty much everything else but am using a modern hispeed uart. I'm asking a US ebayer for a price for shipping for the DMA chips as they are selling them in lots of 3 but the dip version rather than the PGA. Th...

Re: Part suppliers

Hi Simon,

How reliable did you find utsource? I requested a quotation but they only quoted on some of the parts even though their site says they have stock of the other parts.

Re: New hardware revision?

Hi Simon et al, Just stumbled across your project on Youtube. Looks like an awesome piece of work. I'm a little to old to have sampled the 16bit delights that were the Amiga and ST, but I did have a Vic20 and C64, SID rocks! Currently as a hobby I restore old 1980's video games (the 5 feet tall arca...
